I have some content-rich websites whose sole means of support is the little revenue that is derived from the ads. While it may be a blessing to some visitors to see gaping holes in the page instead of relevant ads, it means that eventually I'll shut down the sites or have to charge for viewing. My little book review site gets a half-million visitors per year and the bandwidth has to be paid for somehow. Imagine how long your local newspaper would last if suddenly all the ads disappeared from their pages. Wayne
