It's that time of year again when the reindeer lichen are growing into scenery form. Harvested lichen on Cheverie Mountain, Nova Scotia this week and today I can make trees and shrubs for my Blocks Of Kindling (BOK) Subdivision.
First step was to carefully clean the lichen.
Next step to process the lichen according to the recipe published by Frary and Hayden, "All about lichen," Railroad Model Craftsman, Vol. 44(4), September 1975, pp. 34-37.
The lichen was dried for a few days.
And now this morning I am making vegetation.
With very great care, even stems, trunks, and branches can be painted.
