An F-7 for passenger service? Not likely on a branch line. F is for Freight, 7 for version. No steam heater unless you buy the FP-7 like the Reading did.

Most branch lines opted for the Alco  RS-1 as it was designed for this service, freight or passenger. It could be eqipped with a steam boiler for passenger service in cold climates.

That was folowed  the RS-2 and RS-3, so either would fit your railroads needs.

I can tell you that the New Haven replaced all branch liine steam power with the RS-1s the day they were delivered. Those of us living along the Canal Line sure missed the sound of that lonesome whistle sounding at all of the crossings up and down the valley to Cheshire. We never got used to the the BLAAAAT of the RS-1, but that's progess.

New design:

Note that there will be sufficient extenders in place so I did not feel the need to leave room on the ends.

I kept the express track and made a better representaton of the depot platforms.

I added a new industry: a heating oil distributor on the lower right. That track also has room for 'storage' of three or four cars. I was able to get this in by havng it cross the track leading to the team tracks as you can see.

This re-work is done using all Peco code 75 turnouts and crossing.

The Y's at either end of the mainline are 'large radius' y's.

The turnouts on the ends of the siding are 'medium radius'

The other turnouts and y's are 'small radius'

let me know what you think.

:)

Looks good to me. Go ahead and start building :-)

 Smile,
 Stein
