My suggestion would be to contact NCE and ask for their advice. I use NCE wireless DCC on my HO layout but have no experience with the components about which you are asking. I have read on other forums that NCE is good about answering such questions.
I am helping a friend complete his Large Scale layout and have some questions about DCC connections. I have had Digitrax DCC on my HO railraod for 8-9 years but the system my friend bought is NCE.
My first concern is proper connection from his power supply to the PB 110A and the CS02. The quick start instructions indicate that his 10 Amp Power Pro system requires 16-22 volts AC. His power supply is a Bridgewerks Magnum 15-SR with terminals marked as follows:
-O O+
To Track
24-30 Volts DC
-O +O
Remote Throttle
O O
24-32 Volts A.C.
~O O~
The guy at St. Aubins said to use the slide handle on the power pack to control the output to ensure that the 22 volt DC maximum is not exceeded. I assumed the terminals marked "To Track" output DC current not AC. How do I make sure I'm A. putting out AC current and B. Not exceeding the 22 volts AC?
I also had a question about the connections for the CS02 and the PB110A. Apparently The wires going to the pins on the PB110A are to be split with one of the power supply wires going to the two left pins and the other wire is also split and goes to the two right pins. Is this correct?
The book cautions that the CS02 and the PB110A are wired differently however other than this "splitting" of the incoming power I didn't see any other differences. Am I missing something?
My friend also puchased the necesssary supplies to operate in radio mode. He has a seperate device that is to be connected and instructions. Is there anything I should be aware of in hooking this up?
Any help you can give me would be very appreciated.
Michael
