I have seen a member use thick plexiglass that one side was conected to the window frame then he put a sliding thick plexiglass that locks to the frame and to the other stationary plexiglass. Very simple really. Sorry, I only view what he had done.
I am a beginner and plan to expand my present one train RR (Aristo Craft RS-3) including entry in/out of my house. We are building an addition with a workshop at the basement level. With new construction, I have flexibility to include in the new building design, train track entry in/out of the house at floor level. I have 20 - 30 feet of length to run the track in the workshop.
I'm presently thinking to to make space for three (3) tracks into the house to handle expansion to 3+ trains in coming years.
With three (3) tracks in parallel, how wide should the opening be? What kind of door should I use (sliding, hinged, other)? How should I seal the entry way to keep bugs, etc. out of the workshop? I definitely will have a lock on the door. I'm sure there are probably other issues/questions that I need to consider.
I would appreciate advice from members that built a system like this.
Thanks.
