25 drops! Yikes! That's only for those big steamers and dismals. I do not think you could even get 25 drops in the stack. The Aristo manual for my C-16's says 6-7 drops.

This has the same little plug in type oil heater that they use in their C-16's, 0-4-0's, Sierra coaches, etc. These units take 5-6 drops of smoke fluid and will smoke (a little) about 15 minutes. These units are not nearly as picky as the big fan fan driven units in the big diesel which will smoke better on the Aristo (Crest) smoke fluid (supposedly a finer grade). I just ordered a bottle from my favorite online store http://www.ridgeroadstation.com/trains.shtml for my Aristo E-8. For my C-16's I use the stuff I picked up from the local hobby shop with no difference from the Crest fluid when compared (I even found some coal scented oil there). Just a note - The plug in smoke units are not terribly long live especially if you leave them on with no fluid in them but replacement units are easy to order.
You can download a manual for the Rogers at the Aristo-Craft website www.aristocraft.com.
Most manufacturers recommend their own brand of smoke oil although there are a number of different brands available at your favorite hobby store.
