Most of the big stores with good reputations are selling their existing AristoCraft stock at the old price but new shipments will reflect the doubled price. Aristo also announced that they will be instituting their "buy 4 boxes get one free" sale year round (go to http://www.aristocraft.com/ for details once they are up). Brass track users should look into track from USA trains as they are still manufacturing track with existing contracts so no huge price increase in the immediate future. Also look into track from other vendors like Llagas Creek, Sunset Valley and AMS.

Amazing how Stainless Steel track is now cheaper than the Brass equivilant. at lease thats how it appears on lgbpola's website (St. Aubin)
I plan on getting SS turnouts as they are almost 1/2 the price of the Brass equivilant. I wont care that there is a difference in appearence. after a few years on the ground who will tell the difference?

My wife and I are getting ready to start building her garden railroad (my railroad is a basement HO layout). We heard track is going up in price tremendously.
Can anyone recommend some good internet stores with decent prices on track? We're looking at starting with a 16' diameter circle of Aristocraft track, and expanding from there. But while we're at it, which brands of track are compatible with which others?
Any help is certainly welcome!
Thanks!!!
