Thankyou LGB
Posted by kimbrit on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 3:58 PM

I don't know about you guys but I think I need to say a big thankyou to the recently demised LGB. I bought my first garden train in 1986 after I got back to the UK from contracting in the Falklands, I was in Berwick on Tweed and as I walked past a shop a very large train rattled along, I went in and walked out with a very large box, a Stainz passenger set. I had known about them for some years so I suspect it was a case of being in the right place at the right time. After that I moved down south and found Garden Railway Specialists, their shop was not far from where I lived, they sold me a Mogul when they first appeared, what a loco at that time!! Anyway, since then I have drifted in and out of the hobby and today I am the very proud owner of what - I think - is a nice RR with products from many manufacturers and LGB stands out there with the best of them.

So, thanks, if any of you guys from LGB are reading this you were the right company at the right time in the right place and if you hadn't been there I don't think the garden railway scene would have taken off like it has. I hope LGBoA takes up the reigns for future generations, but for my generation, once again, THANKYOU, I mourn your passing.

Cheers,

Kim
