Gang house dedication
Posted by CDise on Monday, June 11, 2007 11:27 AM

This past Saturday, June 9,  the Lancaster Chapter of the National Railroad Historical Society dedicated their newly refurbished gang house.

As part of the celebration, they had a modular G scale layout inside the freight station next door as well a display outside.  While I was responsible for the outside setup, I had help from the Susquehana Garden Railroad Club,  the South Eastern Garden Railway group and the Lehigh Valley Garden Railway group.  (1 or 2 from each).  We put the track together friday afternoon, then dissassembled it in large sections.  Saturday, we then put everything back together in about 2 hours.  We were running by 9 am and tearing down by 3 that afternoon.

Other than the actual event, It was fun seeing the members from different clubs working together.

Note the ganghouse is the block building immediately behind the display.

I didn't see a drive by modeled on it anywhere. Sorry...I just couldn't help myself. That really is a great way to show what can be done to brighten up even the darkest of places. Nice job.
