What's with Kadee?
Posted by cacole on Saturday, December 13, 2003 12:08 PM
[?] What is going on with Kadee G-scale couplers? I realize that they produce many different types to fit specific models, but three local hobby shops have been unable to get Kadee #830 body-mount couplers for the past 6 months or so. They are all being told by their distributors that Kadee G-scale couplers, at least the 830, are not available. I've had the same luck, or lack thereof, with the 930, a rust-colored version of the 830.

There is nothing going on with Kadee, the problem lies with either the dealers or the distributors just not ordering the #830 couplers. Kadee has these in stock and can produce them very quickly as they are a very popular coupler.

If you have to , I use #789s for Arsito gondolas, LGB 53' flats etc. There is more room for the wheels. Also on USAs gundersons have to have them cause the wheels rub and I don't want to cut the box up so snow /dirt gets in. Just a thought.
Sam, WOOW great to have a Kadee rep lurking around. I love the products.
keep in touch[^]

Is it REAL? or Just 1:29 scale?

Yes. Sounds like a problem with the hobby shops. I use Kadee couplers on all my locos, and all the cars I run (except certain pairs that I always run together because i'm still buying track to finish my logging line). They are a great product and I had a friend over Satruday, and he was amazed at the couplers and how great the design was. Some of the best products for large scale if you ask me.

SROC99 and vsmith --

Thanks for the information about ordering directly from Kadee -- I didn't know that could be done. My order for the G-scale couplers will be placed this week.
