How to update your location

As you can see I have 2 locations listed:  Location 1 has an outdoor RR, location 2 Has INDOOR. both RR's are weather dependent. 9 months a year for one, 12 for the other. BTY the more I work on the indoor the more i want to move it out in the soon to be landscaped 4000ft backyard. Why, because I can't run a 30 foot passenger train and make it look good.

Also it might be helpful to include USDA plant hardiness zones for those in the US.  Is there something similar to climate zones in other countries?

I agree that a general location should be required.

 

I would invite 'locals' over to assist in problems if I knew they were close by as my speciality is Electrical/electronics.

I agree with both comments so far!   Anybody wanting to find me can probably do it on line, as the junk mailers certainly can!   All you gotta do is look in the phone book and you'd have it chapter and verse; so why be coy about it here?

Yeah, there is that small percentage that aren't in the phone book; but I'd imagine that it presents a small detriment to anybody serious about finding you!

Hello all,

I received an interesting comment, which I thought I would pass along. Garden railroading is a worldwide hobby, and we have to deal with many weather conditions. It would be helpful to others if you could list your location. This would be helpful for not only weather conditions (for plants, types of glue that will hold up in your area, extreme sun), but you might find a user lives nearby!

For privacy reasons, I understand if you'd rather not list your specific location, but even a general location (Central Wisconsin, for instance) would give others an idea. To update your location go to:
Update profile--and type in your area under "location," near the top. Scroll down and hit update. Done!

Of course, this is only a suggestion, and is not required by any means.
