I have updated the link with new pics on a project in progress.
I was wondering if anyone here could help me out. I've tried to Google pictures of U.S. railroads during WWII and I can't hardly find any. I'm looking for pics of freight trains loaded with tanks and other equipment. Does anyone know of any websites where I could find pics like this? I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks. Kevin.

Thanks Tom,
That is what I did with all my projects up until now. I guess I just didn't want to leave anything out. I can't always gets good pics to go off of.
Plans? Who needs plans.
Spend some time in google and collect some photos of examples you like, then wing it.
Nice pics. Thanks.
I've bid on several of those boxcars and cattle cars. I never come close though. They usually go for $700+.
I have seen a fully restored train with about 6 or 7 cars and a bridge that was a "Buy it now" on E-Bay for $10K.(Or best offer.)
I have some extra track rail.(No R/R ties.) I've been wanting to make a turntable and either a roundhouse or shop. Does anyone here know where I could get some plans for either?
Thanks, Kevin.
I met one of those in Kenosha just a few weeks ago. What a treasure.
The owner was a small boy in 1930 when his father got it second hand. I have a photo somewhere.
I found one on internet that sold recently for $9000. Wasn't in as nice condition as this one and had fewer cars.
Kid powered. It came with a lot of track, even switches and a crossing.
My Loco and tender are originals from the 1920's. The flatcars are repros from T-Reproductions. I'm just as impressed with the repros as I am with the originals. The repros are powder coated instead of painted. I've been building a tabletop dio to display them.
Thats a real BUDDY L from the 1920's, I would kill for one a full set of that! They are VERY expensive and VERY collectable. DO NOT PAINT IT if you are ever thinking of selling it someday.
There was a repro a few years ago that was track powered. The originals were all unpowered though several have been powered in one way or the other. These are BIG toys! Theres a full collection on display at the Cal St RR museum in Sacramento. They are VERY impressive looking.
As Napoleon Dynamite would say: "Luckieeeeee!"
Have fun with your trains
It's just a large scale outdoor toy train. Pretty much a push toy. There are some locos that had a large battery and chain-drive conversion kits. I've heard of someone actually converting one to steam. I'm not sure just how that would be done. Mine are just for looks.
K:
That's an interesting old train. Is it live steam? Windup? What?

This is a link to another forum I post on. It's mainly a military modeler forum. I posted this link in the "layout" forum and a couple members mentioned that I might want to post here.

I'm looking for plans for either a roundhouse or a shop. If anyone can help out, I would appreciate it.
