Gauge 3 -the work starts here!!!

As several people are aware I like articulated narrow gauge locomotives... However I have been increasingly frustrated by the inability to build the really large articulateds that I grew up with. The 16mm scale is a nice one to work with and there is a wealth of 2 foot prototypes to build. However I wanted to build Cape Gauge (42 inch) locos. I have decided to move up to Gauge 3 (63mm) for this.

I did also rather like the idea of a 1 inch scale locomotive....

Thus I have to build track that is "right" for a 16mm scale and 1 inch scale loco.

The first loco for the 1 inch scale will be an LBSC "Large Bass" which is a 2 foot 6 inch gauge loco, the next a Hunslet "Andie".

The first was chosen by my wife and the second by my son. At the insistance of the former -both will be battery electric. The steam experiments that I am performing at the moment are leaving her with the shakes!!!

Gauge3 what a concept, you mean the U.S. 3ft er's could have real dual gauge track and trains just like the D&RG had, just to name one. where can I get them. BTY nice selection and My wife gets the shake's too. just thinking about Me and the Bar B after I used gas to light the charcoal. Now it's propane for Me.
