Matt I be happy to get you some, just need a picture. Not a problem, got John some stuff for a train and he is down under so way not?!
Many thanks for the offer, but having gone back to double check the website shipping details I...um...mis-read the terms. $50 was an estimated cost for 10lbs. Not going to order that much so I'll go through the order process and get them to give me a quote before I order.
I'll post when I get somewhere.
Thanks again, Matthew.
What about getting someone here in the US to purchase and send them to you.

I was going to order some barrels until I got to the international shipping part...
$50:00 minimum! Too rich for my blood. I can't believe it really costs that much, even just for a couple of bags (10 per).
A product just for you guys in the US I suppose.
Regards, Matthew Foster (Japan).
Your link takes you to the same place as mine. I just have it going directly to the toy cargo page rather than their websites homepage. Yes, it is an excellent source for not only the barrels, but other wood parts which may help with a scratchbuild project.

I have bought barrels, milk cans from a company in Ft. Worth, Texas about 10 years ago. You can check their prices on the following web sites and see if they are price competitive. Here are their web sites.
http://www.woodwrks.com/ That is the main website, click on Toy Cargo, they offer other items too.
When I bought, I bought the bags of 100 as that was the cheapest price per piece.
Jennifer,
You're welcome ! Glad it was helpful.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I just wanted to express my appreciation as this is a perfect link for exactly what I was looking for.
Jennifer
Thanks for the post.
According to the site, they are 'pickle' barrels.
Can't wait to see a picture of the trestle with 'pickle' barrels. But thats ok, I'm gonna haul 'oil' in mine .... Just wait until my 24:1 people find out they're drilling for 'pickles'.
Thanks Again

Keep On Railroad'n..............
The other night, I bought some wood barrels from one of the big-chain craft stores at 99 cents for a bag of 2. Tonight I looked on the package and low and behold, the manufacturer has a website where you can get them even cheaper. For $15.00 I bought a bag of 100 wooden barrels for the Beerhall, beer garden and Krausbrau Brauerei in my G-scale alpine German village of Krausbach (named after my late godparents Karl & Christine Kraus who were from Nurnberg, Germany). If you are building a structure that is in need of barrels, oil drums or milk cans check them out at http://www.craftparts.com/mall/page37.asp I hope I am not in violation of any forum rules by posting the link as my intention is to help anyone else who may be looking for these items. The barrels are 1 5/8 inches tall by 1 1/8 inches wide. They also have a selection of other wood parts which may be of some help for a scratch-building project.
