Polks Model Craft Hobbies when ordering and you get your order, less than half of the order, they said "we do not back order". And "we do not know when a new shipment will arrive, could be 3 to 4 months".

Why the heck should I order then if you have the parts on there web pages?????!!!!!! I am just blowing off steam cause it just gets me that if that was me I be in deep.

I am missing 20 parts out of 33........and it is a kit bash project SoapBox [soapbox] Banged Head [banghead] Angry [:(!]

Don't feel bad.

I finally sold off projects after amost three years of trying to get parts.

Another thing you need to be VERY careful of, is that they do re-use part numbers.

I ordered parts for a Version 2 FA for a customer who fried it when he derailed on track power.

These have plungers and springs in longer journal bearings.

 

I got motors with worms, if I recall.

I don't know if they've fixed it yet.

Oh, and FWIW, I can pick up a price list for a Model "A" Ford, but guaranteed FOMOCO won't have any of them.

We use those pages you are using more as a reference.

Always call or request confirmation on stock.

I would think that any company worth it, would keep things about the same.  And to say that something will ship in 3 to 4 months is really bad customer service. 

Let them know you're not satisfied with that answer, because it really isn't an answer.  No company I have ever worked for would have said that was good enough.  If who you are talking to doesn't know the answer, ask to talk to a supervisor, and keep going up the line until you get the right answer.

I ordered parts from them about a year ago. Got half of my parts. They kept all of my money. They told me that they don't keep parts in stock, that all their parts come off of returned damaged items. Best to call the parts department and talk to them before ordering parts. Maybe they will set the parts you need aside until they get your money.

People can get away with many things for a while, but they eventually go broke. They sound like a bad mob to deal with. The best way to treat this is, never deal with them again and advise friends not to either, as you have done.

"made in china" might have something to do with the unknown time, w/o backorders,although I found Mr Polk to be very helpfull and more than generous in forfilling my order.
