Kim;

I am very much into sound and i already have an LGB diesel sound and i don't want my lcos to sound the same.

I like the idea of a small unit that buzzes around and sounds like the real thing.

You are right though i got such a good deal on the LGB 20970, the sound is going to cost double, the cost of the unit itself.

Ian, I think the sound on one of these units would just be a simple diesel engine, is it worth the expense of a Phoenix unit when an LGB one would suffice?

Thanks Kim but don't go to too much trouble, I know where i can get one for a ridiculously low price and i am going to buy it; and i agree with everything you have said.

I will let you know how i go; the people selling it are really ignorant and wont reply to any of my enquiries. Normally I wont deal with people like this but i don't think they have any idea of what they are about and i am going to take a chance.

If i get it; I am going to send it right over to Phoenix to have a classy sound system put iin it, i think a few people on the forum will be interested in this. If you arew please let me know

Hi Ian,

I think this model is a re-release of a pre MTS loco, but it is now fully equipped. I'm going to Bay Models on Sunday, they have them in stock and I'll find out everything I can about it and the price. I will also send you their contact details then you can do a deal if you wish. Get back to you on Sunday afternoon, which will probably be Monday morning for you!!

Cheers,

Kim

Kim;

What are you actually saying, some do and some don't?

The person selling it is an ignoramus and will not answer any emails, so i cant find out for sure one way or the other, its brand new though. They only want US$175. i saw one going for about GDP 180 and another in Germany they want 600 Euros for.

What do you think?

Be wary Ian. I seem to recall this one being around many years ago and that would most certainly not have been ready for MTS.

Anything i can get would be appreciated; i know where i canget one for a good price; if its got a decoder its an absolute bargain. I had the idea that it would be unique and one day might be worth a bit.

Hi Ian,

It is fitted with an MTS decoder but it is also a discontinued item and only available in dealers whilst they have it in stock. It has no sound card fitted. I have seen one in Bay Models and it is quite a good looking item. It is still shown on the LGB website if you want more info.

Cheers,

Has it got a decoder and/or sound fitted as standard; does anyone know?
