...............and in with the new. I have fast grown tired of my 8x12 narrow guage railroad. I am rippin it out completely and starting over. I FINALLY got my mother to give up a larger area of the yard to accomidate my new narrow guage "empire". I will be increasing it to 11'x16'. The current theme of the land scape was reminicent to the Rio Grande Western in the rockies. But I am goin to re do the landscaping as well to look more like west Texas. I will call my new empire the Sagebrush & Rattler Railroad. I am also repainting all my RGW Bachmanns. This should be fun.

Just have mom upgrade your cell phone, (camera with bluetooth) and get a blue tooth stick for $30 and you'r in business.
I got a Kodak CX 7430 with docking station and printer for under $200. It's a great camera, easy to use and takes excellent photos! Surely you have a birthday or something during the year?
In any case, starting over is a good thing. It allows us to build better and avoid old mistakes. In my case it allows me to make completely new mistakes, one's I would never have thought of before.
Do keep us posted, photos or not!

Yes Rene i do just that, i have a digital camera but if i want to do anything serious i use my Canon EOS SLR and have the films processed. It is more expensive than having a digital SLR but a new one would cost me more than i want to pay at this time.

Ian Most places around here charge anywhere from about $7.00 to $15.00 or more for the same service that WalMart does for $4.58....and the scans from WalMart are much higher resolution.
True, but with a digital camera you can take thousands of photos, edit and print from home for mere pennies. A digital camera allows you to see what you just took a photo of, and save or delete it on the spot. No need to worry about carrying around film or "wasting" a shot, take as many photos as you like with digital and edit them later.
Film in my opinion will always give a better finished product, hands down. But it requires a lot of technical skill to get it right. Digital can make even a dummy like me appear competent. The best thing about digital is you don't have to go to Wal-Mart and stand in line (spending much more time than it's worth to "save" money).

Jack, your totaly right, most people want a finished product so they go to digital and you can review it on the spot! As for 35mm you can not untill your in the lab checking each slide. Myself when taking different wildlife or other shots I use both digital and 35mm on tripods.
I agree with Rene on this i have had cheap processing by Rabbit photos of my trip to Bali a few years back and never again. Both the prints and the disc were lousy quality and they both had different shortcomings.

I can believe that!!! I only have them process the film and put on CD. For "routine" prints, I do them my self but I have a very nice printer and I use high quality paper. For special use prints, like ones for display or for sale I go to a custom printer. Within the next year I should have my own film scanner to make high resolution scans, but I will probably still have the CDs made for reference scans.
