Hi everyone,

Walthers definately is a giant in the industry. From our family to theirs we pray all the best in this time of sorrow. Brian.

I'm very sorry to hear that. I didn't know the man but the Walthers company is practically the bedrock of the model railroading hobby.

The Walthers were giants in the model railroading industry.  Mostly known in HO and N scales, they made a huge impact on the modeling community with their high quality merchandise.  Go to the web site for more details.

Rene, I suspect there may be a lot of us who don't know Mr. Walthers.  Can you provide some info?

In the meantime of course my personal condolences to the family.  It is a hard thing to go through but he is in no pain any more and, in a far far better place.  Hanging on to that thought always conforted me during such times.....

This is sad news indeed. He ran a heck of a good company.

I regret to write that Bruce Walthers, chairman of Wm. K. Walthers Inc., passed away on January 28 after a battle with multiple cancers.

I am posting the link to Walthers' news section, though I don't see the obiturary listed. Perhaps it is still to come: http://walthers.com/exec/page/news
