Thanks for all the positives.

Dave, I agree.  The snow was a little heavy, but as you see in front of the station, the FA pushes on through.  I have another blade I intend to mount that has more of a side diversion than the small one presently on the front.  That should help a lot.

Piman,

Nice pictures and YouTube video. The snow appears wet and heavy but the train triumphs in the end.

What's with all this white stuff??????  Little chilly today, but went out for a short time.

In April the line expands out to the corner of the yard from here.  In Jan/Feb the road to thr top of the falls should be complete.

Chateau de Vic will be complete in the next two weeks and will sit atop the rock ledge.  The town house will be able to be returned to the city.

TJ,

Some people in the northern United States and Canada have been known to have frozen ice delivered from the sky.  It's cheap stuff, so when it's ordered the person usually orders A LOT.  The delivery company found the most effective way to deliver it was to make and deliver it in clouds, like rain, but frozen in little tiny pieces.   You can get different kinds of snow, the powder kind is good for those who like shoveling and plowing or just watching it, while the more dense kind is good for those who like to build things with it.  "Legos from the heavens," if you will.

It's soooooooooooooooo much better than rain.  I'm sick of the stuff.

Ah yes, that explains it!  I guess you learn something new every day.  It's very interesting but I think I'll stick to surfing.

Why do you put that white stuff on the ground and then pretend to push it off. Why not just play with your rains? Like this?

Construction begins here just after holidays. Laying track on out to the far corner of the yard.

Great Way to End 2006 - Snowplowing !
Posted by pimanjc on Sunday, December 31, 2006 8:37 PM

After a surprise snowstorm, I took my FA and FB-RC/Battery locos outside and used them to snowplow the HedgeApple RioGram Garden Railway.  The snow wansn't powder, like I prefer for plowing, but the urge to get out and play on the last day of the year was too great.

YouTube link:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5zDiF1H2c4 for snowplowing video - "Great Way to End 2006 - Snowplowing"

Vinita township is burried almost as bad as the towns of Western Kansas.

Switching onto the mainline.

Plowing the new elevated line, that replaced the old "Wida'maker Curve."

Over the "HedgeApple Gulch" trestle.

Through the "Giant Sequoias."

The Engineers finally have the lines cleared and stop at the Station for Coffee and Donuts before hooking up the passenger cars and getting back on schedule.

Sadly, I didn't get a still picture of the train going through the new tunnel because the camera batteries decided to die first. [And I froze out.] The tunnel is in the video.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to Everyone !!!!! Big Smile [:D]
