Could be a dry joint on circuit board or a relay as failed, after christmas drop it into a model shop or if you are lucky enough to have any body in the electronics trade they may be able to sort it.   If all fails then a new one will be required

Have a great Christmas hope you get it sorted in the New YearSmile [:)]

LGB Christmas sound boxcar problem
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, December 21, 2006 6:32 PM

New here, hope I'm in the right place. If I am not would someone please advise me?

I got my LGB Christmas boxcar (4335s) out after a few years in mothballs. I put a new 9 volt battery in it and it worked just fine when I started up my Christmas train.

However, when I brought the train to a stop, the music kept playing. Not for just a few seconds but for 15 minutes until I unplugged the battery. It worked fine the last time I used it. Now I must unplug the battery or turn it off using the switch. It used to play out the current song then stop when I turned off the power.

 Any suggestions?
