Bachmann G-Scale 3-Truck Shay w/dcc and sound

Hi there,

Does anyone know if Bachmann have released any of the G-Scale 3-Truck Shays w/dcc sound onto the US market....over this side of the pond we are told that they on there way to us.........

If they are already in the shops and if anybody on the forum has purchased one could they let me know what they think of the locol.

Bachman USA have already answered my question posted here a couple of weeks ago - the sound system will consist of authentic 3-truck shay sounds.

My next question to anyone who has one , have they been able to operate the loco on LGB MTS? Bachmann UK have told me that the loco is NMRA compliant which does not always mean it's LGB compliant!!

Hi Keith,

Tower Models in Blackpool have them on their new price list at £485, the new freight stock is in the low £80's, flat car in the mid £40's.

 Thanks for your message. I think the model that Tower Models have listed is the non-dcc/sound model (Bachmann List Price Stg.Pds.610 - Discounted Stg.Pds.485)

What I'm looking for is information about the recently announced dcc/sound fitted version (Bachmann #82697 or #82698 List Price Stg. Pds.730 - Discounted Stg.Pds.585).

I've contacted Bachmann USA and Bachmann UK but neither is able to provide the information I'm looking for - will it work on LGB/Massoth MTS. All they have told me is that the sound decoder will use authentic 3-truck Shay sounds (which is what I want !!) and that it will be NMRA Compliant - which is not quite the same as will it work on LGB/Massoth MTS.

I'm hoping that somebody in the US who has purchased one of these models can answer my questions - assuming, of course, that the model is already released in the US market.

Sandy at www.gardentrains.co.uk has them shown on his site at a pound less then you want to pay! He does say he's anticipating delivery. If you haven't dealt with Sandy before he's a gent and very knowledgable - give him a call with your questions.
