Sorry, but that's about as plain of English as I can use without standing over your should and explaining it. That's why I gave the two different examples. The first test illustrates how the first link works and the second doesn't, and the next test shows the accual links to show why one version of the same link worked and the other didn't.

If you're on a Mac, you might encounter other problems that might keep you from posting photos in our forum. However, if you're on a PC, the main problem seems to be that when you paste a hyperlink directed at your photo that's hosted on another site, it doesn't work. (Hyperlink meaning the text is blue and clickable.) Now, if you take that same link as just plain text, it will work. To do so, simply paste the link into Notepad (on a PC, it's in Programs > Accessories > Notepad) then copy and paste it between the image tags.

There are some updates being implemented to the forum software within the next week or so that should make adding images within the forum easier (and should offer better support for Firefox & Safari on Macs).

Hopefully these changes might have to do with not hand typing in the image brackets per chance?

Kim , I keep my pics on MLS, I copy the image tag, paste it here and add the [img*] [/img*] brackets to it (minus the stars of course). Thats as simple as I can explain it. I understand others not using bezzlebuWindows software had have issues, but mines just the combersomness of the current restrictions.

hope this helps...

That's fair enough, it just begs the question, why did it all change? The old forum had the 'mountain' symbol that you clicked on and you pasted between the img's, really simple. I paste on here using the chain link symbol for a link to the picture, not perfect but good enough. Why do the owners of this site assume that everyone's a computer wiz - sorry, it's not only this site - the old forum had a very easy system that everyone, as far as I know, could use. I think the idea of an open forum is that it's user friendly for everyone, both the computer geeks and the guys who aren't exactly geeks. How hard would it be to return to the old 'user friendly' system, and, I have to ask, why was it all changed? Please don't tell me it was for a better system!!

Has there been any progress on the changes for posting pictures in the forum?  I sure can't get the exisiting system to work for me.

I guess a basic question however is:  Where does the picture have to reside in order to sucessfully transfer it to your posting?  Does it have to be on a web site like "mypictures.com" or other such facility or, can it simple be a picture you have in your "My pictures" folder on you own computer?

Thanks...........
