bashing Lionel

Life started out as an RS-3 Lionel Construction train

 

Then was repainted as Santa Fe (upper track)

 

 

Then kitbashed it to a 7/8n18 critter that runs on 2 AA batteries and can go forward, neutral and reverse via dpdt switch in the cab. Added lights but wire broken when took this photo. still need to add link and pin couplers.

thanks, guy, I'm alternating between 7/8n18 and 7/8n2 projects. Here's a 7/8n2 boxcar that's slowly coming along.

I�m fabricating trucks out of wood and brass for the boxcar btw, and finally got the roof on. Used Lauan and rubbed Bondo onto it.

Also, these are my first clay creations and a possible new technique. Used non-hardening clay, shaped the forms, then brushed casting resin on the figure. Advantages?

No baking; no shrinkage from baking or drying; longer work time since clay doesn�t harden; less brittle (you can throw these down on the ground and they don�t break) and best of all, you can make minor adjustments any time; head turn, tail move, etc. For BB the beagle, used latex and for Gomo (the hobo), used Testors enamel. Painted dullcoat after but it stripped the paint off!!

(perhaps I need the spray dullcoat?)
