This is from the Sportsmans Guide, they are a big outdoor mail order company, but they are notorious for selling a few trains during the holidays.

I've got that set.  Looks like the sportsmansguide is making about $100 on the set.  A store called Tuesday Morning in Oklahoma City, was selling them for $99.  They had a bunch back 6 months ago, but their all gone now.  Haven't had any problems with mine.  Loco has always put smoke  through the stack, but I've never added smoke fluid. ??? 

It was my first set, and I have ran it alot, since its the only thing I have with sound.  Has been well worth the $99 for the set.

I also got mine from Tuesday Morning for $99, here in San Diego last December. (Original MSRP was $499!) But mine didn't come with a boxcar or flatcar, just the gondola and bobber caboose.

I really like the sound in the engine. It may not be as fancy as Sierra or Phoenix but it still sounds good. In fact the first time I ran mine, I called my brother on the phone and said "listen to this". He thought I was out at the railroad museum with the real trains!

I added about two and half pounds of lead to the boiler for better traction. Eventually I want to paint it to look more realistic. I'd also like to install a brighter, battery powered headlight. The existing light is so dim even at full track power, you can hardly see it even in the dark!

BTW, does anyone know who manufactured these? The gondola and caboose that came with it look nearly identical to Bachmann's.
