very nice indeed . the no truss rod aspect appeals to me . makes for a simpler build . looks good especially painted.

At the ECLSTS, Jean and I went over to Strasburg where we saw some interesting boxcars in the museum.   They were all wood, with a steel frame, meaning no trussrods!   Since then, I've also been inspired by one from the EBT.   These are more modern than the trussrod type - and also easier to model.


I built it using Evergreen styrene strips and scribed sheets.   My goal was to keep it simple so I could use the experience to eventually produce a half dozen or so.   I did not model any underbody detail, though there is the hint of a brake cylinder underneath.


Everything is scratch except for the trucks, couplers, brake wheel, and stirrup steps.
