David: I checked my database and yes, your photos were received and logged in.

Ray, winners are notified ahead of time, as we mail out a contract for payment. :)

I was just wondering... when will the winners be notified? Do they find out when they get the December issue in the mail, or are they notified in advance?

Just curious. :)

Got it. Great job, Mike! either 1st 2nd or surely honorable; at least from my perspective.

I'm having a bit of problem getting Mike's picture to show but it's probably my computer. The photos I displayed are cheek in tongue.

BTW, hate to bother the GRR staff, who by now must be getting inundated with thousands of photos, but is there a way to eventually confirm that the photos were received?

I sent mine overnight so it should arrive within a couple of hours. Cost me over $14 from the local post office.

Here's the photos I mailed...

INVASION BY ALIENS!!!!!

It was a peaceful and tranquil day out by the Santa Fe and Hound Creek Railway

Birds were chirping, trains were chugging along…

When all of a sudden, giant legs appeared.

Golly geee, Alien invader from Mars???

Just the ole hound dog

I mailed mine on Friday, by priority mail, so unless the PO really screws up, there shouldn't be any problem getting it in by the 10th.

OK, I'm in the running. I bought an Epson printer today and printed out some 8X10 glossies. There are 7 contenders and I'm trying hard to narrow it to 3. I also got a Rebel today but the instructions are way too long for me to set up and take photos so I guessssss I'll have to go with what I've got.

It will be $14+ to send 24 hour guaranteed, as that's my penalty for procrastinating. Tomorrow I'll send out my CD disk and 3 glossies and the writeup. Since I've been posting ad nauseum on this and another forum, I'm sure the judges will recognize instantly the layout. Esp. if there are hound footprints on the landscape. :-)
