Bachman 70 tonner performance
Posted by trnj on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 12:53 PM
Can anyone give me some information re: the performance and quality of the Bachman 70 tonner?  Has it been redone?  Does it have one motor?  How does it run, especially in regard to slow speed operation.  Thanks!

Is there a photo available so I can see this G Scale unit? New to the G stuff and have been looking for a 70T.

Thanks

Andrew

The Large Scale Bachmann 1:20.3 70-ton diesel is so smooth you would swear it doesn't exist.......

Very smooth runner with 2 motors, mine has pulled 20 bachmann hoppers on a gentle gradient. Good detail, but it is HUGE so check clearances. There was a review with all the data on the Model Railroader, not GR mag,  site before the July changes, look under large scale reviews.

You folks need to learn how to read for comprehension, I do believe.

This is the Garden Railways forum, which tends to cover larger scales.

The Bachmann Large-Scale diesel (ONLY diesel) is a 45-tonner, NOT a 70-tonner.

The full review was, in fact, written in the GARDEN RAILWAYS Magazine, and I know the guy who wrote it.

If you want to ask about the Bachmann 70-tonner in Half-Zero scale, the Model Railroader forum is your most likely candidate.

Why do you think my first post was about it being so quite it's like it doesn't exist?

Big Difference.

Sorry, Curmudgon and others, It'll take me awhile to get used to the new forum format.  As soon as I sent the question, I realized my error!
