What lubricants should I use on My Locomotives?
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, July 31, 2006 3:59 AM

Hello There,

I have just brought two Bachmann Locomotives including a mogul 2-6-0 and a GE 45 tonner. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what lubricants I could use that are easily accesible to buy. ( I live in the UK. So please could anyone tell me ones i could use instead of the expensive Bachmann E-Z lubes that i could buy from a DIY store.)

Many Thanks,

Jake Big Smile [:D]

Labelle sells the best lubes for model trains, you'll have to look to a hobby shop to get but they  are the best I've used. I use two grades, one light, one medium-heavy, the light for fine moving pieces, and the medium-heavy for gears and such.

   Have fun with your trains

Hi Jake,  Dont buy any thing from a DIY store, go to a rail model shop   give Glendale Junction a ring  Tel 01778 343183     Or Bay Models  Tel  01524 730101    I live in northamptonshire and find both very helpful.   Glendale Junction  is near Peterborough      Bay Models is in Carnforth

                                        Hope this helps   John
