I’m in the beginning stages of building a caboose with link & pin couplers and plan to use Ozark Miniatures link/pin coupler w/draft gear.

I’m not going to order the hardware for some time so I was hoping someone in the forum may have used this product and can tell me what space I need between the center sills.

I haven't used the exact link and pin coupler you are asking about but I have used something similar in my log cars. The cars are made out of 3/8" basswood and I just left room in the center beam to mount the couplers between the outside beams. The 3/8" spacing was the perfect size for the coupler.

I think I’m going to go with the Hartford’s coupler. Hartford’s is the correct scale and I’ll be getting the trucks from them too.

Well, it started life as a Hartford kit. Did add some of my own refinements. I've build 6 Hartford car kits and have a seventh waiting on a bridge to be finished. I strongly recommend Hartford as a supplier. Mike and Jeanie are really good people and the kits are great. They do take a bit of time to build but the results really add to the fleet.
The trucks on the log car are the Carter Bros. trucks and actually take about as much time to build as the car body but are really unique. Their arch bar trucks come fully assembled and look great on mainline Narrow Guage kits. All of their trucks are fully sprung and heavy. All of that weight low helps the cars track well and ride smoothly.
I enjoy looking at Hartford’s web site, lots of nice stuff.
