scratch built from items from a craft store.

Was bored due to all the rain! My garden looks like HarpersFerry West VA after Agnes in 72. Hey, maybe I can take pics and send them in to FEMA for Flood Disaster Funds! I made the water tower from various parts I picked up at the craft store. Starting with the Birdhouse. I glued wood strips (Planks) around the birdhouse. They all had to be cut to fit. I made the roof from a wooden base and cut out tin which I nailed in place (Looks more realistic using nails insted of glue) The hard wood stilts were cut from hardwood picked up at Home Depot, much cheaper then going to a hobby store. all the wood was stained and I started to weather the structure, not finished yet. I had tough time on the nozzle. It's alil out of scale because I used a nozzle from a garden hose, addded a turn section from copper pipe. Drilled a hole in the pipe to add a screw eye to run the chain through. I forgot to add that I drilled holes for all the nails I used so not to split the wood. The bands around the tank are cut from tin and nailed in place. I used small wood letters to spell out "ARBUTUS," on the back of the tank, my home town. The tubes inside are soup cans I set out for few days to rust. Not bad for 22 bucks! I couldn't get myself to spend $110.00 for a platsic water tower.
