The best drawings to set out the K-27 proportionally come from the John Maxwell Collection:

http://www.colong.com/

Here you can buy the overal setout drawings, with dims, cab drawing and other features.

The drawings do not have details on them, such as piping etc (use the photos for that).

Also in Model Railroader, 1973, there were two issues that covered the K-27, including extensive drawings of all 4 variants of the K-27, from 'as built' to final version. The drawings are excellent for detailing, pipwork, rivets, tender design and so on, but I would not proportion the model from these drawings, as there are scale issues/boiler too large etc. For proportions, use the setout (folio drawings) from John Maxwell.

For more K-27 Bashes from the Bachmann Connie -same concept project as outlined in Rod's page above, you can check these articles:

and in more detail, with PDFs for the cab, cylinders, frame elements and other parts:

K-27 drawings
Posted by grandpopswalt on Thursday, June 15, 2006 11:46 PM
Can anyone direct me to a website that has drawings of the Rio Grand
K-27 locomotive? I have many photos of the engine but I need a drawing so that I can get dimensions and other details.

Thanks

Walt
