Yeh I know mate but down here its regarded as a girls material.

Real blokes use concrete or wood. I really cannot understand why so many pwople who come from indoor railways do not understand that outside is a much different matter and what you did inside has to be a lot tougher; if it is to survive in the natural environment.

Ian, I suppose the sun would melt it out there. I wouldn't use it for anything structural myself but with modern foams and plastics why not use them outdoors, they are used in the trains. On the subject of cement outdoors I mix a little peat in if it's in the roadbed to help lichens and moss grow.[8D]

Yogi,
Picture look great. My wife made 2 tunnels for my layout when I was away on business. She also made them out of foam. Very easy to construct and so far they have held up fine. They are going into their second year of operation on the MM&G.

Having fun in Ohio.

Well it doesn't look so good to me; I do not understand why anyone would use foam in an outdoor layout.

this material is only for girls, men use concrete (cement)

photo looks good to me. The colours look fine.
Off topic but it amused me, Friend of mine has just cut a hole in the living room wall to allow the trains to complete a circuit via the dining room and has put a tunnel mouth like that on the hole! It hides behind the couch when not in use. His wife says it must have been a very good bottle of wine as she doesn't know why she'd say yes and doesn't remember saying it either.

The Portal looks a lot different in a picture then with the naked eye.

I think I will need more contrast for it to show up on net.

I believe if the mortar joints were darker that may be what is needed.
