Thank you guys for the information! can anyone also give me some info. on Accucrafts Mimi 242? Electronic Model Systems says that it is RTR. Does this mean that the receiver and servos are already installed and the transmitter is included?
I also know that the Cheddar Locos. are very well made but I read that Cheddar's owner passed away and the company is now ownerd by Stuart Models in Guernsey UK. Parts are probably hard to come by now?

Thanks

The problems with the Hornby live steam are really down to people learning to be patient with it. People expect instant electric style control and keep opening the regulator until it goes and then find it runs away from them and crashes. It must be on a tack electrically separate from any other locos as it's a completely different control system to analog or DCC. I've had a play and once you get used to it it can be fun and sounds great. I personally wouldn't buy one as I've got the G scale Accucraft live steam and it's easier to see in the garden.
No experience of Marklin but my UK outline Accucraft loco looks and sounds very good, takes a while to run in and get the best performance time out of it but very controllable.

Can anyone give me some information on the Hornby Live Steam Ho scale locomotives? I have heard that some people have had trouble with this set.
Also looking at a larger gauge, how are the Marlkin live steam locomotives compared to Accucraft?
