BOLO!

Sad news, for the fifth year in a row I won't be going to the York show [:(]. I've had a very bad month so far and it hasn't gotten any better. My mother had a serious heart attack on the 3rd which involved emergency surgery, my wife had a miscarriage on the 15th also involving surgery, and today my dad was diagnosed with kidney cancer (one needs to be removed), and the hospital called to remind me to contact the funeral home to arrange a funeral for the baby. I can’t justify leaving them this weekend to go to the show. As much as I really want to be there, my family comes first, hope you guys understand.

Ben,

No name Ben, just ask where is Yogi set up.
I'm usually in the layout hall just inside of the door.
Ron hasn't assigned me a spot yet.
Looking forward to seeing everyone again this year.

Christian,

I’m a six hours drive from York, PA and even if I weren’t doing a seminar I would still be going.
You can’t imagine all of the LS items in one place till you see it for yourself.
It also gives you the chance to eyeball the people you meet on all of the forums on LS.

I hope you can make it. Stop by and say hello.

TJ,

There are many fine places to stay in York and lots of things to see and do while in the area.

When making reservations at York, PA ask for the “East Coast Large Scale Train Show” rate. Make sure they understand the date you want is 03/31 to 04/02/2006.

The TCA show is in April also and most people going to that show make reservations a year or more in advance and are sold out for miles around York.

This link will give you some information. Call and if they are full for that date they will refer you to other motels that will have the show rate.

Stop by my tables and say hello I’m usually set up in the layout hall.

OK, I'm game. I'll be up Saturday and Sunday. Where is a reasonably priced hotel? All my searches for the York, PA area give me 2 star dumps with bad reviews. Any suggestions Benny?
BTW- I won't be wearing a Dixie D SL or Tangerine-Jack t-shirt, but I'm sure I'll be flamboyant enough to be easily recognized!

Oh yeah, money, got to remember to bring some freakin' cash.

Well, I went for the first time last year, and I LOVED it. It was worth going to, and like Ben said, it was a great deal for the Loco and cars, as I bought one, and love it. I am going back this year. If you go, come into the layout hall, and look for the South Eastern Pennsylvania Garden Railway Society, and you will probably see me. I am the only teenager running the display, so it would be hard to miss me.

last year the show special was an RS-3 DIESEL, A COAL, AND A CABOOSE, ALL 3 PIECES FOR $ 200.00, were the engine alone is worth more than that. it's an all large scale show ,and it's worth going to. ben

East Coast Large Scale Show
Posted by OeBB on Wednesday, March 8, 2006 8:16 PM
Has anyone attended the East Coast Large Scale Train Show in the past? Its about five hours away for me, so i wondered if it is worth the trip? I saw the vendor listing, but i wonder if there are deals to be found or what attracts people to the show.

Thank you!

Christian
