And give us our daily laugh................
Posted by RhB_HJ on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 6:47 PM
Hi all,

Well, you just never know if it's Karma, strictly coincidence or as Flip Wilson says "The devil made me do it!".
In any case, here I sit all day busily translating German into English (so Northamericans will know what it's all about!) and just minding my own business (more or less).
Bing goes the email and there it is, a MPG file that fits right with today's chore and program.

Well my friends, the file is slightly less than 3Mb, requires some sort of MPG player (WIndows Media Player will do). Since I've been translating for most of the day it made for a most fitting interlude, even more so considering I know a few candidates for precisely the service benefits that are being offered/advertised.

Happy laughing!! [;)][;)][}:)][}:)][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

I live in the Netherlands, close to the German border, and do a lot of business opver there, so I know exactly how true this can be!

By the way, thousands of German policemen are taking English classes now to prepare them for the soccer championships - though I seriously doubt any selfrespecting teacher will teach them the terminology they may expect from some of the fans.

Fantastic!

I showed the clip to one of my fellow Engli***eachers this morning. He thought it was great. The Japanese struggle with 'th' more than you could ever know!

Thank you very much

Loved it. Having been to 4 German speaking countries and Germany itself just recently I can appreciate what was said.

Funny, funny, funny.
I'm a retired Radioman currently teaching Basic Communications at the USCG Training Center in Petaluma, CA as a civilian employee. Got that one a couple of weeks ago. Good laugh for the students during the time we're teaching them now to be communicators on the radio. It's also a great jumping off point for us in stressing that you have 2 ears and one mouth. Use your mouth wisely.

Hi SM,

I hope that when you stress those points - actually that would be a whole new "pun" take off - that besides ears and mouth, the brain gets some mention. too. [;)][:)][;)]
