I would say 4'. At our last GRR club meet, one guys brought his shay and it took the 5' just fine, so I imagine 4' would not be a problem.

I have 4' turnouts too. all my curves are 5' Dia. I am hoping it can handle them fine.

Mine handles R-1 switchs which I beleive is a 4' diameter in switching situations. It looks much better on 10' dia, which is my normal curved track and turnouts.

What is the minimum Dia curve that the shay can navigate?
