I'm sure they'll be around for a long time. But, I'd buy the loco first and start running it as soon as you have more than 5 feet of track down. This will give you a chance to see how good your track is! Plus, you never know, you might find someone near you where you can go ahead and run.

How likely is it that the Bachmann "annie" will still be available six months or a year from now? Is it a limited edition kind of thing, or something they'll keep making?
The reason I ask is that I'd like to buy the track first and hold off on the loco until after the track is laid. But it's going to be a while before I get that far.
