Here's my entry into TJ's $0.00 scratchbuild

Back on 13 Jan 06, TJ issued a challenge for scratchbuilding with a total budget of $0.00. Here is my entry.

Neighbor was tossing a wine bottle rack into the trash. Collected from the rash.

Spend half hour pulling out the nails. Another half hour at the table saw. Few more minutes at the miter box, and two external frames are in place.

A little later and the main "box" is in place.

Add some stain.

In the background you can see the yard under construction for the Rosebud Falls Scenic Railway.

2 Budwiser cans later.

Just what every yard needs, a new coal tipple

It helps to have the work bench just a few feet from the GRR.

The stain and glue were left over from another project. Still have stain left for next project, but will need more glue. As for the wood, I have left over three times the amount used for this project. Should get a couple of sheds, freight platform, and something else.[8D][8D][8D][8D][8D]

Total expense: 5 hours, and $0.00 (USD)

Cool. A one evening project.

Is it REAL? or Just 1:29 scale?

Hey there,
Well done! Who needs a wine rack anyways? That's what I call putting it to much better use! Later eh...Brian.
