On December 30th I called LGB with a technical question, I was told that someone would call me back before the day was over, the call NEVER CAME. At 5:37 P.M. that evening I sent an email to LGB with the question and still NO REPLY.

I hope your problem is not typical. I bought Engine #21232 6 weeks ago. I run it at a garden center - many hours everyday. Yesterday it stop running, making a grinding noise like striped gears. I emailed LBG yesterday on what can be done. 24 hours later still waiting for reply.

Lets hope that you never need to deal with them! The Track cleaning loco worked good when it worked[V], and I hope that they will fix it and all will be well[;)]

Well, I for one have never had a problem with any of my LGB equipment, and I plan on buying many more of their products. Of course I have not dealt with customer service so I would not know anything about that.

What is going on at LGB of America?

I bought a LGB track cleaning loco in mid September. I need some thing to clean my tracks and the loco is what most every one said would be the best thing to get. So I save my money to get this Loco from the "Cadillac" of builders LGB. When I got it, the loco started to work then is just stopped, I picked it up to look at it to see if every thing was alright. I don't see anything wrong then put it back on the track and tried again, I turned the power up and the Loco "stuttered" the lights flickered then it seemed to catch then it started to go. I though it must be a MTS thing ( I use old school track power with a Bridgewerks Mag -15). It when in to a dead end siding, when I put it in reverse the amp meter shot up and popped the breaker (the first time the breaker has ever popped). I have never seen it go in reverse. I wrote an E-mail to LGB and the next day thy called me to clarify the problem and told me that I could take it to a local dealer and have them fix it or I could send it in to them. With me being strapped for cash I asked who LGB would recommend to take it in to, LGB looked and said that Roy's Train World is one of there best in my area. So I took it in to them and they found out the problem was the circuit board and would call LGB for the part. This was September 29th, after many Fax's and failed phone calls to LGB, Roy's could not get any one you talk to him. He got his LGB rep to help and one of the top guys and LGB of America finally called Roy's yesterday the 6th and told him that LGB had changed there Phone system and that they are have "employee" problems. The guy told Roy's to send the whole thing to them and that he would have them rush it through the repair and get it fixed. Now I don't know about you but why recommend some one and then tell them to send it in, and to take three months to do it? Roy's called me right after there talk with LGB and told me what was going on and that in this mind (and mine ) LGB has gone from one of the best in customer support to the worst. I think that Tim at Roy;s Train World as gone above and beyond in helping me out and would like to tell you all to think twice before getting on board with LGB.
