Well Vic, sorry to hear that the 4-2-4 didn't quite work out. Who knew such a small locomotive would have such overhang? But the 4-2-0 looks great. I can't wait to see it when it is done.

Nope, the Masterclass project is or was for me the C.P. Huntington, a 4-2-4 from the the California RR Museum, I had to modify mine to a 4-2-0 becasue of the excessive overhang of the model on my R1 curves.

The British profile loco is a MyLargeScale.com winter challenge (finish before Memorial Day) that may turn into a next winters challenge because I now have too many things on my workbench! I didnt anticipate what was suppose to be a rather quick class for the Huntington becoming a much more involved project but I'll get back to the Brit soon.

The overhang on my Porter beleive it or not is about the same as the Bachmann Porter. So I shouldnt have trouble with the R1's with it.

Well even though i know I should be trying to finish my Masterclass project I felt like I needed a change of pace and after rediscovering the Finescale Railroader narrow gauge review from 2004 which featured the Coronado RR Porters I had to give one a try, so with my last stock LGB porter out came the Dremel and the parts box...the basic bash:







Its based (loosely) on Coronado RR #2, the cab is simply moved back using the same rear mounting screw holes, I built an extension of the cab floor and cleaned off the cast on details on the LGB steam dome and added rivets. i opened up the cab and really like the results and will likely do same to the others. [8D]
