Well Marty, have at it!

I've seen several diesel pics of yours recently that would make very nice christmas cards!

Why not print a few dozen out of the train crossing the high bridge in the snow, use those picture holder cards and send a mess of them out next xmas?

That way you can have both diesels AND model trains on your cards!

Or are you doing this already???[:D]

Well how would I know, I've never gotten a card from him?!?!?

[soapbox]NO! NO! Diesel on a Christmas card?? NO! NO![soapbox]

You might as well abolish Christmas from the calendar and run around yelling Happy Holidays! Christmas is a WHITE Christmas in the late 1930s waitng for the family to gather including Uncle Paul from Chicago whose train will be pulled by steam locomotive. No way I say to ugly, dirty, and obnoxiously smelly diesels.

[:D]boy, am I glad that I got that rant out of my system. I hope Marty will still let me come down and play trains on his railroad.[:D]

I guess. I prefer steam over diesel in the winter anyday! No offence, diesels in snow are cool, but steam and snow were made for eachother! Marty, I also like your snow plow with the diesels, but Capt. Bob said, you know, old Christams, old trains equals cool Christmas card!

Well, thats just my 2 cents.

Hey Marty, can we take your diesels off that snowplow of yours and put a couple Accucraft Rio Grande Mikados behind it??? [:)][swg][swg][swg][swg][swg]

Because Christmas is supposed to harken our thoughts to the old (before trains) days, and steam is the old era of trains! Yes, there were horse drawn trolleys, but I only saw pictures of single cars. I'd imagine there were some horse drawn mining trains.

What they are missing is the compression throb of the diesel engines creates a tangible feel to trains that steam does not have!

Yes Marty, drag us kicking and screaming into the modern era!

I noticed that also. Interesting that 50 years after the last ride of the steam loco, it is still thought of first when the subject of railroads is brought up. You'd think nobody ever saw a diesel engine before.

And why is it always snow? What about those of us who don't get any of that evil stuff? What about a Christmas card with a nice Norfolk Southern quad-header pulling a few hundred fully loaded coal cars past a cotton field? It's white, it's fluffy, it's internationaly marketed. Way better than snow.

Thats right, All I ever see is ,,,,steam engines. Doesn't any one make diesels lashed up in the snow and taking shots of them?

I guarantee you, next year there will be Christmas cards with ,,diesels in them.[:p][^]
