Anyone mix US 1:20:3 with UK 1:19 scale?

Whilst in no way wanting to open any serious debate regarding scales, does anyone mix the above and does it look plausable. I really like the ozark and hartford type kits, (I have a couple in progress) but here's the strange thing, i also really like UK small engines such as the Roundhouse Billy and Accucraft Caradoc so plan to purchase one of these next year. I guess what I'm saying is, if we disreguard prototypical accuracy, (although it is said there's a prototype for every thing) hooking up US 1:20:3 stock with 1:19 loco could look realistic.

The UK garden railway people that do make UK trains
do SM32 or SM45 at 1:19 scale.

I own a Roundhouse Millie I have 1:19 scale Innisfail coaches to run with it
It looks Good I also Have some LGB 4wh coaches that will Look good with it
when I get around to to fitting center buffer and chain couplings to it.
My personal opinion is that you will need to do what I did to My Millie
for it to look right and have the believability factor.
Which is fit a pilot (small Cowcatcher) front and rear and a Head and Reversing light. with those fitted it becomes a colonial for export loco and you can tow anything from any where behind it and no one can tell you its wrong
especially if you give your railway an exotic colonial sounding name.
With that done as long as all locomotives and rolling stock have the markings
and it looks like there is some semblance of standardisation you can then do what you like.

Just so you know
Australia has run stock and locomotives from the U.K US and Germany even other crown colonies.
And all in the same train hence the need to give the railway a name and mark all the stock for that railway and have some sort of standardisation policy.

Aristocraft is a US manufacturer
Had not heard of them making a class 66.
Any more to tell about it like which of the "G" scales it is being made too
or is it being made to proper gauge 1?

Thanks for comments. RE UK locos, I suggest doing a search for the following suppliers sites.
Brandbright and PPS steam models. Pearse make some very nice US prototypes but very expensive for the likes of me See PPS site for these.

John - I've seen some Accurcraft UK stock modified with spark arrestor chimneys which totally alters the look as you say. Adding in a pilot and big lamps would finish it off nicely. Not sure about knuckle couplers though!

i wont comment on the Goofy response. Each to their own.[8D] I do however appreciate the aesthetics of both UK and US locos. It would be great if there were more live steam US models available.

me I use the center buffer and chain coupling method on the live steam
choppers look nice but I don't like the price
The link an pins look nice too
All the knuckles I have seen are plastic and I am dubious of there durability
on a live steamer.

I am guessing it will be 1/29 the same as the rest of the Aristocraft range
For those that have not worked it out I am not a fan of diesel engines.
unless they are old enough to have been built in the dwarven forges before the age of men.

Aristocraft are bringing out a Cl.66 diesel with Bachmann in the UK handling distribution - think it's to 1:29 scale. Freight wagons are also rumoured to follow at a later date. Not planning on buying one yet - the cost of fitting LGB MTS decoders and Pheonix sound system puts me off...........

With regard to the original question the majority of my stock is LGB German/Swiss outline at 1:22.5 but I also have a Bachmann Heisler and Shay as well as an Accucraft Goose at 1:20.3, a USA Trains Boston & Maine GP9 (picked up in Boston whilst on vacation with my cousin who lives at Framingham) at 1:29 as well as an Accucraft live-steam Baldwin Lyn at 1:19. Everything except the live-steam Lyn have LGB MTS decoders and LGB or Pheonix sound systems.

This might seem bit of a mish-mash but I don't normally run everything at the same time so it's not too bizarre!!! At present I'm slowly building a loop round the garden which will be used by everything. Off this main loop will be a logging loop, a Swiss mountain loop as well as a German end-to-end. Thats the plan anyway.

Plenty to keep me busy for a few years.......
