I also would like to know this and any other information about this loco.
Thinking of placing an order for one very soon.
Will import direct from the States to Aus, so your help would be much appreciated.

Specify, I mean are you looking for dimensions or scale size? I don't know either, but it might help get you the answer your looking for.

It's 1:20.3 scale, measures 19 inches long, 7 inches wide, and 7.5 inches tall without the tender. It has a cast metal frame and a large metal weight in the boiler. Overall shipping weight is in the neighborhood of 15 pounds.

Hi Gary.
The 2-8-0 is a fantastic loco, but!!!!!!!!
Before you plonk down your hard earned cash get the dealer to check the loco out.
Specifically look for any loose screws in the motor - gearbox mountings and the counterweights - axles.
Also, depending on the type of transformer/controller you have you would be advised to remove the small round "noise" suppression pcb on the top of the motor itself.
If these fixes need to be done let us know when you get the loco. TOC or I can walk you through the procedure.
Bear in mind also by importing direct from the USA you will not have any effective warranty in Australia as the the Australian Bachmann agent is not obliged to honour a USA warranty.

Isn't the width more like 5 1/4" , at 7" wide it would scale out to about 9'.

5 1/4 -5 1/2 wide, if it was 7" it would have widened my bridges and tunnel.

Yes, you're right -- it's about 5.25 to 5.5 inches wide -- I made by bridges 7 inches wide to have adequate clearance.

Thankyou for your advice, I have read the same instruction on the Bachmann forum, I will certainly take you up on your kind offer for help if I have a problem.

I have imported several other locos from the US, so far so good, I hope I have the same luck this time.

On this note I can't say enough for the great service I have received from several suppliers in the States.

the only thing to watch out for is the screw holding the counterweight on the third driver which has the coupling and connecting rods on it. This does come loose and will make a mess of the valve gear, either check and tighten it regularly or carefully remove it and put some loctite on the thread, DON'T move the crank while you are doing it though.
Easy check is if you get any lateral movement when you, technical term coming up, wiggle it!
