Guys, I was in Kmart and noticed they have these pouches in a bigger size: 8.5 x 11. The price was good, too. $3.99 for 5 pouches.
About the size of a businss card. They probably sell bigger pouches though.

I would think that regular laminating paper (8.5 X 11) would cover signs of most sizes and dimensions. Might coat it with dullcoate if you want an oldtime look.

Well The sign I waterproofed with the laminating pouch survived being completly submerged for 24 hours straight.

Often enough to justify the expense of getting the Exterior grade varnish
with three coats its fine.
Will not survive the golf ball sized hail stones we get though that usually takes the structure as well.
Will be getting the serious summer rains soon Just as well the line is 9"
above ground level
Would love to know where the idea we don't get any rain comes from.

I just waterproofed a sign made with a signmaker program and printed on an inkjet printer. I used inexpensive heat-seal laminating pouches available from Offce Max, Staples or other office supply stores. I used an iron to seal the pouch. The sign has been sitting under water over night and the ink still has not run. The only drawback is the sign must be small enough for the pouch to completly seal it in.
