The Hudson pulls 5 Aristo heavyweights.
On the Challenger I have 4 MTH freight cars and several Aristo tank cars with a USA caboose.
If you pick and choose cars from other brands the size matches fairly close.

Wow, that is some nice stuff. I would really like to have the Big Boy. You do have a nice amount of engines. How many of the cars do you have?

I have the Hudson and Challenger with a Big Boy on order.
Those should easily justify the cost of the DCS system.

Bud, thank you very much for the info. I did not know that DCS had that ability to not interfere with the other reciever/transmitter frequencies. I know I will be getting DCS now, so that is good. Bud, what locos do you have from MTH? I was thinking of getting either the NS dash 8 or the susquehanna dash8. Those steamers are a little too expensive for me right now.

I have been using the DCS system outside since MTH started with the large scale trains and am very pleased with it.
The system has more functions that you will ever use, great sound and control and I have had no trouble with it.
I also run Aristo on-board receivers in other brand locos and can run them at the same time as the MTH locos with DCS system without any interference.

Buckso,
well I'll be darn, I am always hanging around in the O gauge forum. I know that I will only be able to use the MTH product, and I am actually putting a dedicated loop in for only DCS. The good thing is that I am also collecting MTH o gauge engines as well, and I have the TMCC system already. I just wanted to know if anyone has used it for the Gauge one line. Hey I live near you, in Montgomery County. That is funny. are you into outdoor railroading as well? i joined a club, SEPGRS, and here is the website. www.sepgrs.com. You should join if you can. we are going to have a show in fort washngton in december. Click on the calendar to find out when. I will also be going to the First Frost meet in Allentown, hopefully, and that will be in the events calendar as well in November.

Colin,
I believe the only limitation of using DCS would be that it limits you to only running MTH product. Most other G gauge manufacturers have adopted DCC standards. I use DCS to run O Gauge trains and it is a great command control system.

Does anyone use DCS on this forum? I am into garden railroading, and have a few things to get me started. Also does it work well? I plan on getting it for christmas, and an MTH DASH 8 NS loco. Thanks for the help.
