Rene,

Well, hopefully I'll meet other garden railroaders. My wife and I have booked a cruise/tour package to Alaska for the same time period next year!! We will be flying into Anchorage, AK on Sept 5th, staying over night, then staying at the Mt McKinley Wilderness Lodge for 2 days, then staying at the Denali Wilderness Lodge for 1 night. Then we take 9 hour train ride on the Wilderness Express to Whittier for boarding on our cruise ship, the Princess Lines, Diamond Princess for a 7 day cruise thru the inland passage, stopping at Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan.

I'll be on the lookout for Marc and Jack, as I know what they look like!!

Will there be any type of badges that people will be wearing to denote that they are on the GR Cruise? It would be interesting to meet other garden railroaders. Now I'm definitely looking forward to our trip.

See you all there!!!

After our successful house swaps in Germany, Engand and FranceI am trying to do another house swap, in Canada this time but I am aimimg for July, as I think it will be too cold for me at other times. We are planninmg a trip up to Alaska then.

Does anyone know much about them.

Dave,

I have asked Marc Horovitz to forward this thread to Traveling Together in the hopes of answering your question.

Thanks Rene, I appreciate it. I told my wife about all the garden railroaders who will be invading Alaska at that time next year, and she just rolled her eyes[sigh] I went to their website and saw that there is a GR at Jewell Gardens in Skagway. I've added that attraction to our itinerary to visit, when we dock there.[:D][:D]

I read in GR that the cruise will be departing from Vancouver on September 9, 2006. I believe that they are sailing on a Princess Lines ship. I will be departing from Whittier, AK on the same date. Hopefully, we'll all meet somewhere in the middle[:D]
