Is there any place other than the local PBS station that you could catch Tracks Ahead? Ours is limited in its useful programming and due to TV network "rights" we can't get one that shows it.

I'd love to get it off the Internet, even if it's a small (320x240 pixels) video.

Great!! I've been waiting for it and the PBS folks here in Tucson, AZ, think I'm nuts...they don't know anything about it.

Wont be on out here either, the big local PBS station here even dropped This Old House in favor of more cooking shows and endless 6 hr fundraisers with those two self help gurus. Man oh man I hate them...

My cable company in the Los Angeles area carries 3 PBS stations. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to watch it on one of them.

Thanks for the heads up!!

Time Warner cable in the West San Fernando Valley has KCET(channel 28), KLCS (channel 58) and KOCE(channel 50??). KCET doesn't have Tracks Ahead to my knowledge. KLCS has carriedTracks Ahead in the past. KOCE has had other railroad related programming, so they might carry it.

Here's hoping KLCS or KOCE carries Tracks Ahead.

I've e-mailed KPBS here in San Diego. Should have some kind of answer in 3 business days. (according to their automated reply system.)

Tracks Ahead has a webpage that lists the PBS stations, by state, carrying the series. Check out http://mptv.org/Tracks_Ahead/Trax_main.htm . Unfortunately none of the PBS stations on my cable are going to be running these programs.

Puck,

The shows aren't available online AFAIK, but you can purchase DVDs of seasons 1-5 here: http://mptv.org/Tracks_Ahead/Trax_store.htm

Also, for the rest of you, if your PBS station doesn't carry Tracks Ahead, email or write them and ask for it! The squeaky wheel. . .

Yeah, nothing in L.A! Its like I said, if you can't cook it, or get some self help guru to drone on and on for 6 hrs giving investment advice , PBS won't show it....

Do any of the satellite company's, like Direct TV, carry PBS stations that air Track's Ahead?

I was back home to the small town in Indiana, where I was raised and I was able to view Tracks Ahead for the first time. A great show not aired in Central Ohio.

Buckeye Riveter,

Probably not. It's not on PBS-U, so it's up to your local PBS station. Due to television market concerns (Read: We suck, but we don't want to improve) you can only get local channels for your area.

Check out RFD-TV (Dish Network 9409) for some other train shows, if you haven't already. They carry _The Train Show_ and _Trains and Locomotives_.

I was surprised to find Tracks Ahead on my PBS (39--Fort Wayne) station, 4:00 PM Saturday.

Puckdropper, Thanks for the good info, but you surprised me with your last statement about Channel 39. I was at my in-laws in Auburn, Indiana, just north of Fort Wayne when I saw the show for the very first time on Channel 39. [:0]

I used to ride the Pennsy and Wabash out of Fort Wayne. Small world.[:)]
