This just in from LGB. For details, visit their web site at www.lgboa.com

LGBoA Sponsors Katrina Charity Auction LGB of America announced today that it will sponsor an auction of three special LGB models to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina with 100% of the proceeds going to the American Red Cross.

LGB of America will donate three of its popular LGB 20380 New Orleans Streetcars. To make these into very unique models, each will be personally signed and numbered -- on the model and the box -- by Wolfgang Richter, known to LGB fans around the world as the co-creator of LGB trains. Plus, the top bidder will also win a free, one-year membership to the new LGB Club in 2006.

“LGB of America wants to help the people affected by Hurricane Katrina,” said Tony Castellano, Chief Operating Officer of LGB of America. “And this auction will give the LGB of America family a unique way to get involved in the recovery.”

The three streetcars will go to the top three bidders in the email auction. The top bidder will receive the model numbered “1 of 3”. The next highest bidder will receive the model “2 of 3” and so on. A Letter of Authenticity will also be included with each model. Here’s how the auction will work: - You may place your bid by sending an email to katrinarelief@lgb.com. Your email must include your name, complete address, telephone number and bid amount. - Bids will be accepted until Tuesday, September 13 at midnight (Eastern Daylight Time).

The starting bid is $500. - Updated bidding information will be posted on the NEWS page at the LGBoA web site. To reach that site, go to www.lgb.com and click on the LGB of America button. (Please note that this is not an automated auction site, and bidding information will take time to update.)

- You may increase your bid by sending additional emails.

- You may bid on multiple models (up to three). Your highest bid will apply to each of the models.

- Payment in full (by check, MasterCard or Visa) must be received at LGB of America by Tuesday, September 20. If payment is not made by that date, the bidder will be disqualified.

Well, seeingas how I can easily be outbid by just about anyone who goes over the opening minimum, I guess I'm out of the running. However, the good news is that I already have an LGB New Orleans Trolley (along with the New York Trolley), so I'm pretty well set.

San Diego - The LGB of America/Hurricane Katrina benefit auction has
ended with stunning high bids of $3,000, $2,500 and $2,000 for three
special LGB 20380 New Orleans Streetcars signed by Wolfgang Richter.
The streetcars have been donated by LGB of America, and 100% of the

"I have always been impressed by the kindness of the LGB family,"
said Tony Castellano, Chief Operating Officer of LGB of America.
"However, even I am overwhelmed by the generosity that our customers
