Kid friendly battery car

No matter which RC unit or battery you may want to use this is the simple way to install them and try it for the first time.
OK, I took a photo of a "kid friendly" batt set up.

I bought two clips from an auto store that fits my favorite battery and an on/off switch so i can turn it off w/o unpluging the battery. And a plug that fits Aristo's loco plugs.
NOTE the (+) side of batt is marked.
takes 15 minutes to do this ONCE. If i don't like it I can put the TE back in its case and use it for something else.

I've also done this with RCS units .

Hey Marty, I noticed that you have the antenna sort of crossing back and forth on that card/sheet of paper. Others have told me in the past that to get the best range on the on-board t/e you should wrap it around the inside top of the car in a circular patern around the perimeter. How's your range using that method? If it's good, that's a lot simpler than what I just described. Also, is yours 27 or 75Mhz?

The only reason its on a card stock is that it moves from car to car based on need. Other antennas are as you say, as high and straight as possible around a roof of a car

Taking the plunge this Winter and going to battery power. Just need to save up the cash and away we go. Cleaned track a few times this year and that was enough for me. Looking forward to the change! Later eh...Brian.

why wait till winter. It took me about 30 mins to set up this batt car shown above. rewiring locos is the timly part. Aristo is ready at the flick of a switch.
It was asked on another thread about having track power for others. Most folks who come here say" now I see why your batt power" Its just easier.

Over here it takes 10 minutes to clean the track and then they run all all day.
