Access doors

I'm looking for ideas/suggestions on an access door from the interior of the garage to the outdoor layout. Thanks.

Saw one on a layout in Ontario, Canada that had a mountainside built up alongside the outside of the garage. Inside, a simple sliding guillotine type arrangement that the owner could close to prevent critters from getting in the garage.

I saw the article, thanks. I should have mentioned that it would ideally be remote controlled or at least a push button operation.

Just a quick thought.

Go to your local lawnmower repair parts facility. (or a bicycle parts store) get yourself the longest "sleeved cable" (i.e. Lawnmower throttle cable). Install a simple sliding guillotine type door way and attach the cable and then fabricate some kind of handle.

You could just go back a few pages in this forum to a question I put out about keeping dog droppings out of my tunnel. Pooper Scooper Car???????? One of the forum members, Wd8jik, provided me with a complete set off plans and photos on how to build and "automatic" sliding door.

A simple enlarged mousehole would do the job pretty well. Also what about making a tunnel out of 200 mm storm water pipe and running your track through that.

very soon i will have the same problem but my door is a roller door and i will put a stop on it coming down right on the track giving a short circuit.rgds ian
